The Decatur Chamber’s Summer Concert Series makes a huge shift this week as the 2024 schedule moves past the halfway point.
After four consecutive weeks of tribute rock music, the series will shift to an entirely new mode this Thursday: square dancing.
It will be the first time the annual series has brought square dancing to the Madison St. Plaza.
The three-hour event will start at 6 p.m.
Werling takes his square dancing to numerous communities in this area each year.
Werling performed last February for the Adams Health Network’s Diamonds & Denim fundraiser at the Mirage Event Center in Decatur.
As usual, there will be no admission fee on Thursday.
Food vendors will be on hand, as will the Mirage’s Oasis Pub to provide adult beverages.
Thursday will mark the seventh event in the Chamber’s 2024 series, with six remaining.
