More of what skateboarders love is now down at Decatur’s new skate park on fifth St.
The concrete work is being done by Taylor Gage’s company, TG Concrete.
The new equipment – quarter pipes, ramps, kickers, a pyramid, etc. – is concrete.
It is hoped that the skate park can be ready for use some time in July.
The total cost of the skate park could amount to $35,000, with federal ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds being used.
The skate park is located in North Ward Park at Fifth and Short streets, within sight of the city swimming pool.
The park’s hours will be the same as in other city parks.
