Mark Banta, 69, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 11:01 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his residence in Geneva, IN. He was born on Wednesday, October 27, 1954, in Portland, IN. Mark was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of South Adams High School. Mark spent 13 years at Mobile Medical in Decatur building ambulances, he worked for Red Gold for 6 years and at Automatic Sprinkler in Monroe, IN, for several years. Mark was a member of the Geneva Vol. Fire Dept. for many years and of the Indiana Volunteer Fireman’s Association. He was an avid Indy race car fan.
Mark is survived by his brother – Malcolm J. Banta, Englewood, FL. sister-in-law – Betty J. Banta, niece – Dawn Knezic, Bridgman, MI, nephew – Travis Banta, Naples, FL, and 3 grandnieces – Addison, Avery, and Harper, Naples, FL.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Robert ‘Malcolm’ Banta and Mother – Julia Waneeta (Farris) Banta.
There will be no services at this time. Burial will take place at the West Lawn Cemetery, Geneva, IN. at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
