Adams Memorial Hospital has announced the addition of two advanced blood chemistry analyzers, the Cobas Pro and Cobas Pure, to its laboratory.

Hospital officials said the state-of-the-art instruments are designed to enhance the analysis of critical blood chemistry tests, including lipid panels, glucose levels, and cardiac markers.
The primary instrument, Cobas Pro, will handle the majority of chemistry testing workload, ensuring accurate and timely results for our patients, the officials said.
The Cobas Pure analyzer will serve as a dedicated backup, primarily used for STAT testing to provide rapid and reliable results when time is of the essence.

“The integration of these new analyzers has significantly improved efficiency within our laboratory,” the announcement said. “With advanced automation and streamlined processes, these instruments require less hands-on time from our technical staff, allowing them to focus on other critical tasks.
Annually, the hospital’s lab team collects over 30,000 specimens and conducts over 180,000 tests, and the addition of Cobas Pro and Cobas Pure is set to further enhance service delivery,” the announcement noted.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire lab team for their dedication and hard work in mitigating the effects of this transition,” the announcement said. “Special recognition goes to Brandon Anderson, Lead Medical Technologists, Janice Muhlenkamp, Technical Lead QA Coordinator, and Rhonda Brune, for their many months of preparation and commitment to ensuring a smooth changeover to the new equipment.
“The introduction of these advanced analyzers is a testament to Adams Memorial Hospital’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality care to our community.”
