Geraldine K. “Gerry” Franke, 74, of Monroeville, Ind. died Saturday morning, November 25, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Gerry was born September 15, 1949 in Decatur, Ind. to the late Reinhard Franke and the late Vera (Hormann) Franke.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church – Flatrock and a member of the Hoagland Lions Club and the Advisory Board for Madison Township in Allen County.
With a very social personality and a kind heart, Gerry loved serving friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and being a great aunt.
Gerry retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne and then Regal Beloit. After retirement, she worked at Adams Heritage Nursing Home in Monroeville.
Gerry is lovingly survived by her brother, Tom (Tina) Franke of Monroeville; nieces & nephews Samantha (Cary) Shaffer of Decatur, Derek Franke of Monroeville, and Jessica Franke of Monroeville; great-nephews, Kyle and Ross Shaffer of Decatur; uncle, Bob Bowen of Decatur; and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older sister, Phyllis Franke.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church – Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery – Flatrock.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the St. John Lutheran Church – Flatrock Fellowship Center and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church – Flatrock and the American Cancer Society.
