William “Bill” Shory, 82, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away at 4:50 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on Saturday, May 10, 1941, in New Palestine, OH. He married Mary (Jacobs) Shory on Saturday, June 20, 1992 in Dunkirk, IN. Bill worked for Wayne Body Works in Richmond, IN., and for Sterling Casting in Bluffton, IN. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing, and tinkering around in the garage. Above all Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his Wife – Mary (Jacobs) Shory, Dunkirk, IN, Son – William Walter (Marie) Shory Jr., Milton, IN, Daughter – Michelle (Dave) Grimes, Pershing, IN, Step Sons – Mike Dahlstrom, Winchester, IN, Troy (Liz) Dahlstrom, Decatur, IN, Step Daughters – Amanda (Chad) Somers, Geneva, IN, Crystal (Jason) Suman, Pennville, IN, 3 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, and several Step Grandchildren & Step Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Mother- Miriam.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023 with Pastor Scott McClain officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the US Army.
