Jocelyn Roan Parrish, age 78, of Berne, IN passed away on August 23, 2023, at home with her husband and high school sweetheart, Ralph Parrish.
Jocelyn was born on March 15, 1945, to Jim and Ella (Baumgartner) McCullough. She graduated from Adams Central High School in 1963. Ralph and Jocelyn were married on March 9, 1963. They welcomed 3 children.
Jocelyn is well known for her baked goodies- especially cookies. She briefly worked at Arby’s and McDonalds but most of her time was spent being a homemaker and watching her grandchildren. She taught them about baking, and they enjoyed reading lots of books on her lap. She and Ralph enjoyed entertaining guests, their family, and small groups from church. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Brian McCullough, and an infant grandson, Nathan Lee Flum.
Jocelyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Parrish, 3 children; Peggy (Ronald) Hannah, Ben (Michelle) Parrish and Pattie Bustos, 12 grandchildren; Aaron (Joy) Flum, Abbey McClure, Jared (Megan) Parrish, Brooke (Dustin) Schaefer, Katie Flum, Josh Flum, Alysse Bustos, Gage Bustos, Allie (Denver) Burkley, Logan Christian, Mia Bustos and Trapper Bustos, 11 great grandchildren; Kaleigh Wynn, Bryant Scudder, Briann Scudder, Janie McClure, Hailey McClure, Wyatt McClure, Parker Parrish, Greyson Parrish, Lynlee Parrish, Mira Schaefer and Remington Schaefer. Her sister LaDonna (McCullough) Schaadt of Berne survives.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Liechty Funeral Home in Berne, IN. Per family request, a private graveside service only. Memorials can be made to The Bridge Church in Berne in Jocelyn’s memory.
