The Adams County Commissioners have done an “about-face” when it comes to helping to fund early learning programs locally.
The Commissioners last month turned down a request by County Economic Development Director Colton Bickel to help fund the “Imagine” Early Learning Program and the hiring of a director to over see the program, which will be a joint program involving Adams and Wells Counties.
WZBD’s Ed Thurman spoke with Colton Bickel about the impact that the move will have on economic development in the area…
With changes in the wording and the focus on the early learning programs, the Adams County Commissioners will help to fund it for three years. The money will come from the county’s economic development income tax.
Bickel says it will have a huge impact on families that could potentially move to Adams or Wells Counties, as well as companies that could move to or expand in the area.
