Janet M. Fuhrman, 65, of Decatur, IN, passed away on the Feast of the Assumption, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital. Janet was born on February 15, 1958 in Decatur, the daughter of the late Dwight E. “Dewey” and Esther H. (Bentz) Egly.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a member of the Women of St. Mary’s. She was a 1976 graduate of Bellmont High School. She was employed by Biggs, Inc. in the accounting department. Formerly employed by Custom Car Care, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Fleetwood Motor Homes.
Janet is survived by her 2 children, Amber Fuhrman of Fishers, IN and Jeremy (Taylor) Fuhrman of Willshire, OH.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bexlee Jo Fuhrman; 2 brothers, Ronald P., and Kenneth E. Egly.
Visitation will be from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father David Ruppert will be presiding and burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School Tuition Fund, Masses, or Donor’s Choice.
