Janet J. Swales, 83, of Decatur, IN, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at her residence. She was born on May 12, 1940, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Winifred (Hensel) Bragg. On August 14, 1960, Janet married Charles L. Swales, he preceded her in death on April 4, 2004.
She is survived by her son, Ken (Patty) Swales of Decatur, IN; her daughter, Jodi (J. Doug) Brewer of Chicago, IL; a sister-in-law, Carol Bragg of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Swales; her brother, Kent Bragg.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Adams County Democratic Party.
