The Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s Summer Concert Series kicks off the second half of its 2023 schedule Thursday with another tribute band, E5C4P3, which features the music of Journey.
The latest concert will be the eighth of 14 scheduled for this year on the Madison St. Plaza.
Turnouts have been large and it’s likely to continue this week.
There is no admission fee for the outdoor concerts. Food vendors, hot dogs at Andy’s Coney Bar, and adult beverages by 2 Pour Guys will be available.
E5C4P3 was formed in 1993 by Jason Kelty (photo), who impersonates Journey’s Steve Perry as he handles vocals. The band performed together from then until going on hiatus in 1999. In 2008, E5C4P3 reformed to once again recreate the essence of early-1980s Journey.
Following their performance here, they will travel to Cuyahoga Falls and New London in Ohio for shows on Friday and Saturday.
