Dorothy Beeler, 101, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Adams County, on January 10, 1922, the daughter of the late Otto W. and Verna F. (Owens) Hoffman. On March 7, 1943, Dorothy married Arthur D. Beeler, he preceded her in death on November 18, 2013.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Church, a member of the United Methodist Women of which she served as president for 4 years, she also served for 4 years as the Marion District secretary and served on many church boards.
Dorothy was a homemaker, a Deputy Clerk for 5 years in the Treasurer’s Office and served on the Drainage Board of Adams County.
She is survived by her 2 sons, John Beeler of Tavernier, FL, David (Jill) Beeler of Fulshear, TX; a daughter, Susan (Bill) Brown of Sun City Center, FL; a sister, Virginia Gase of Fort Wayne, IN; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Arthur Beeler; a daughter-in-law, Denita Beeler; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Tom, Dale and Charles Hoffman; a sister, Phyllis Winteregg.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest Porter Auditorium. Burial will take place in Decatur Cemetery.
In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Stillwater Hospice or Heifer International.
