Initial results from election officials in Adams County have shown a 44% turnout rate for Tuesday’s midterm election.
8708 voters turned out, either in early voting or election day button-pushing, out of 19,761 registered voters.
Republicans dominated the results, as expected. County voters cast 2556 straight-ticket Republican ballots to the 777 of local Democrats.
County voters favored both of the state constitutional amendments, casting votes in favor of public question on bail at a rate of 65% and for the residence of judges at 63%.
In statewide races, Beau Bayh, the democratic candidate for Secretary of State, did better than anyone else from his party, winning 33.7% of the vote.
There were very few contested races for positions in the county, with township government providing the closest races.
