Here’s some advice for Adams County residents…Don’t build anything and attach it to a county owned bridge! Though that might seem rather obvious, someone is doing just that near Berne.
County Highway Superintendent Brad Yoder told the County Commissioners Tuesday that a local farmer apparently hung gates off of a bridge to block a creek and prevent his animals from escaping underneath the bridge.
Yoder explained to WZBD’s Ed Thurman just what is happening at the rural location near the New Hope Church…
Adams County Sheriff Dan Mawhorr said personnel from his office will accompany highway department personnel to make sure that the local farmer understands the need for the gates to be removed from the bridge, and to make sure they stay removed from the bridge.
