Work is scheduled to begin Thursday on the trail around the ball diamonds at the REV Sports Complex in Decatur.
Parks Superintendent Cara Gerber said Asphalt Authority of Fort Wayne will be doing the project and should be completed around the following Tuesday, June 2, weather permitting.
The work will include milling (removing) the asphalt to a depth of two inches and resurfacing, plus cleaning and sealing all major cracks.

The REV Complex opened in May of 2021.
Later this year, Asphalt Authority will turn its attention to the Rivergreenway Trail.
That project will be done in an area starting by the Kekionga boat launch, which is where new trail work concluded a couple of years ago.

A total of 1,175 feet of trail will be milled to a depth of 1.5 feet and resurfaced.
Gerber said a date for the trail project is unknown at this time as it will depend on other work Asphalt Authority has scheduled for the summer.
The trail is nearly 4.75 miles in length.
