Erik Michael Kendrick, 34, of Berne, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Erik was born on October 14, 1991, in Joliet, Illinois, to Richard Michael Kendrick and Kristine (Murnick) Kendrick. He was united in marriage to Emma Whalen on March 3, 2021.
Erik was a proud ironworker and member of Iron Workers Union Local #147. He was also a member of Eagles Aerie #2653 in Decatur, Indiana. He loved his career and took great pride in his work.
Erik found joy in fishing, riding his motorcycle, grilling, and caring for his reptiles. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Kendrick of Berne, Indiana; children, Zoey Chism, Bentley Chism, and Abel Koplin all at home; father, Michael Kendrick of Decatur, Indiana; mother, Kris Kendrick of Berne, Indiana; sister, Erin (Zach) Cummings of Willshire, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Andre Kendrick, Delaney Cummings, Lynken Cummings, Sophia Serna, Noah Serna, Amelia Serna, Nevah Mullar, and Mateo Moore.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cheryl Skov; maternal grandfather, Dennis Dowdy; and paternal grandmother, Francis Bradford.
Family and friends will be received from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana.
