City of Decatur officials have announced office closings and a revamped trash/garbage/recycling collection schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday.
City offices will be closed Thursday (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 27-28.
Utility payments may be made online at www.cityofdecatur.in.gov or placed in the Utility Payment Drop Box behind City Hall.
Thursday’s trash and recycling collections will be made the following day and the normal Friday pickups will be done Saturday.

FALLING LEAVES: The city’s leaf collection is continuing and is likely to last another three weeks, Operations Manager Matt Schultz told city council at its Nov. 18 meeting.
‘I feel like we are a little ahead of schedule,” Schultz said.
There is no set schedule for pickups as there is for trash and recycling; weather can be a factor.
“With the use of both of our machines we will be able to cover the city rapidly,” the announcement said.
Residents are asked to rake all leaves to curbside for pickup.
