Adams Woodcrest proudly announces that Karen Bauer, Clinical Dietary Manager, has been honored with the Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center for Assisted Living (IHCA/INCAL) Caregiver of the Year Award for 2025. Bauer has dedicated 26 years of service to Adams Health, demonstrating unwavering compassion and a commitment to resident-centered care.
The Caregiver of the Year Award recognizes a person working in a skilled nursing facility or an assisted living community who excels in job performance, provides quality, person-centered care, and serves as a role model and mentor to fellow team members.
In her role, Bauer ensures residents receive meals tailored to their nutritional needs. She is a visible and comforting presence at every meal, making sure residents feel cared for and supported. “Karen is a quiet hero of our community,” said Alma Ahmetovic, Executive Director of Adams Woodcrest. “She does so much for our community and for our residents.”
Bauer is known for her ability to soften the transition for residents moving into the Nursing Center. “I try to put them at ease,” Bauer shared. “If they are having a bad day, they may just need a hug or smile. I treat every resident as if they were my own mom and dad.”
Adams Woodcrest is committed to its mission of Extraordinary Living Where Everyone Is Family, and Karen’s award exemplifies the community’s dedication to compassionate care.
