A large crowd is expected for the fourth annual Connor Brite’s Wildflowers Benefit Concert which is scheduled for Saturday on the Madison St. Plaza in Decatur.
The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m.
Food trucks and music will be available. Special Wildflowers shirts will be sold.
Four bands will perform: Penny Drip, School of Rock, Rogues, and Bandits. In a special addition, two students of the Wildflowers music lessons also will perform: Karsen Combs and Nakoma Setili.

The concert is held to raise funds for the Connor Brite’s Wildflowers free music lessons.
Parents Jeff and Steph Brite, daughter Allie, and family members and friends, started the free lessons program to honor Connor, who loved Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers” album.
The lessons are provided by volunteers in a room leased at the MERIT Center.

The current class is full. The next session begins the week of July 7 and runs through October. Anyone interested in signing up for the next session should visit www.cjbwildflowers.com
Individual, introductory lessons in keyboard, guitar and drumming are provided, with the students allowed to take home their instruments for practice during the length of the program, which is open to all Adams County students in grades 4 through 12.
Over 100 students have taken part in the program.
Connor Brite, Trevor Ortiz and Jordan Fuelling – all in their early 20s – were killed by an impaired driver in a traffic accident in Union County, Indiana, on June 7, 2020.
Since this year marks the fifth anniversary of the tragedy, T-shirts sold at the concert will include three colors to represent each young man: blue for Connor, orange for Trevor and white for Jordan.
ANOTHER EVENT: Meanwhile, the sixth annual TJC Wiffleball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 12.
Proceeds go to the Adams County Community Foundation for annual scholarships in the names of the three young men, along with renovations at Hanna-Nuttman Park, where the wiffleball tournament is held and where the three played as youngsters.
The event is headed up by a committee of friends of the three, along with the three families.
