Morgan J. Smitley, of Portland IN, was set free from the hardships of this world and brought into the arms of God on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at just 30 years old.

After years of struggles, she is finally walking again on golden streets with Our Father.
Morgan was born April 23, 1994 in Portland Indiana to Roger & Joanne Smitley. Morgan was a 2013 graduate of Jay County High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her late Grandma Bonnie. She absolutely loved animals, especially her dog Coco. Morgan had the most beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was spunky, funny, giving, stubborn, but so, so loving. She loved to make people laugh and you could always count on her to tell jokes or speak in a British accent. She was a country girl, but loved all things girly; bright colors, clothes, make up, and accessories. She also enjoyed coloring and taking care of her plants. If you knew Morgan, you knew that she loved so hard. Even in her darkest times, she still loved like there was no tomorrow and always reminded everyone of that.
Most importantly, Morgan loved God. In Morgan’s life she faced many challenges, but in her final years, she turned to God.
