For years, fans of WZBD have gotten through their mornings with the calming, positive voice of “Tony G.”
David Anthony Giltner finds his work for WZBD to be just as calming and positive from the other end of the microphone, mixing in his positive outlook on life with stories of his wife, Cindy, and his grandkids.
Giltner has worked in radio for nearly 30 years and could not see himself in any other job.
“I have always been fascinated with the history of radio,” he says.
Sitting atop the “Imaginary Mountain” every morning when the sun rises out the window of the studio, Giltner appreciates his role as cheerleader for the area, learning the names and stories of so many residents of the Adams County area.
Meeting new people is one of his favorite things, he says.
“I appreciate, more than anything,” he says, “the chance to meet people.”
His adventures with the station have led him to meet everyone from Roy Acuff to Mario Andretti and plenty of people in between.
“I could never have been able to do it without being in radio,” he says.
When he is not working for the station or with his family, Giltner considers himself an artist. He sketches and paints as his main hobby.
Always a student of history, Giltner, like nearly everyone at WZBD, has a deep love for motorsports. He also enjoys model trains.
