A group of employees from Adams Health Network recently helped clean up Adams County Safety Park and the Worthman Field ball diamond.
Safety Park, located in the Worthman Field complex off Adams St., provides both pedestrian and fire safety to school-age children from throughout the county.
Among those assisting were (from left in photo): Melanie Teixeira (LPN at Adams Medical Group Woodcrest and her children beside her); Kris Rider (Elder Care employee with her granddaughter and fianceé); Stacy Keller (outpatient registration supervisor); Joyce Inniger (RN at Adams Woodcrest); Terri Luginbill (administrative assistant at Adams Woodcrest); Debbie Barnes (housekeeper at Adams Medical Group, Berne and Geneva).
Decatur Fire Chief Jeff Sheets, who is president of Safety Park of Adams County Inc., expressed his appreciation to the volunteers: “The Safety Park Board would like to express our gratitude to all the employees that helped to clean up Safety Park. Without your help, it would have taken John and I a couple of weekends to do all of this.”
“We are so thankful that staff includes their families in these projects – young kids – which we like to see … hopefully this will make a difference for the generations to come,” Loree Sprunger, told Sheets. Sprunger is the community outreach assistant for Adams Health Network.
