The Adams County Historical Society’s Dugan Mansion in Decatur will be open weekly to the public beginning Sunday, June 4.
The mansion will be open from 1-4 p.m. each Sunday through August. Admission will be $5, with historical society members and children 12 and under admitted free.
A free open house is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 17.
The historical society is seeking docents and will provide training for those interested. Docents volunteer up to three hours during the summer and lead guided tours of the mansion.
Training sessions are scheduled for 6:30 p.m on Tuesday, May 16, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. Anyone with questions may call or text Mary Bertsch, (260) 223-2233.
Anyone wishing to arrange a group tour of the mansion is asked to call or text the same number. A total of 24 second graders from St. Joseph Elementary School in Decatur recently toured the museum (see accompanying photo).
The museum is located at 420 W. Monroe St., at the corner of Monroe and Fifth streets.
